You guys got a great player and a great person. I'll be cheering for the Preds in the West this year.

I'm happy to have Turris on board. He helps the team push each Center into an appropriate spot, having Bonino as a 3C and Jarnkrok/Sissons as a 4C. Preds fans should keep reasonable expectations for Turris and not be disappointed if he doesn't score 25-30 goals. He will contribute to depth scoring just by ensuring a better center is playing with the 3/4 lines, even if his name isn't on the score sheet.

And in Lavy's system, he could find the right niche and score some goals. At best, I am hoping Bonino and Turris can together make up what the Preds lost in Neal and Fisher. On paper, they can if their wingers can finish. I have days where I really wonder about Smith, Aberg, and Fiala being able to finish basic plays. But, if they do, the Preds could have 3 stacked lines that keep up tons of pressure on their opponents. I like the following lines:

Forsberg-Johansen-Arvidsson
Smith-Turris-Fiala
Hartnell-Bonino-Aberg
Jarnkrok-Sissons-Watson

(McLeod-Gadreau-Solamaki)

That's a pretty stacked offensive lineup, even if you shuffle a bit on the 2/3/4 lines.

The Preds are getting a very capable 2nd line centre. He should slide in nicely behind Johansen. Ottawa tried to make him into a 1st line centre which he will never be.

He’s not a centre that will turn a 3rd or 4th line winger into a reasonable player, but he will play both ends of the ice and has a decent shot. His playmaking ability is average but is good positionally. Assuming he gets playing time with a decent winger, he’s capable of 60 points. Personally, I always expected more from him with the situation he was in on the Sens.

He’s contract negotiations and comments have been strange. Get the vibe he never actually wanted to stay in Ottawa at all, which is fine and it’s good that management sorted it out now. He’s a great community guy and will be well-liked by fans. Ironic that he is sort of replacing Mike Fisher in both Ottawa and Nashville, who was also a good community guy.

Still feel the trade is good for all 3 teams involved.

It would've been nice to have been given some quotes or some video from Turris' media availability, rather than just having it described. At the least, a list of the some of the names of players on the team that he's friends with wouldn't have been hard. We don't need to be introduced to Turris. We aren't casuals here. We know who he is and where he comes from, and anyone who might not has already learned in the four days since the trade. News to come out since then (quotes from Turris, his new teammates, the coach, etc.) would be more informative and interesting to readers.
